As we all know that the Union Government recently ANNOUNCED that from 2021 a single “Common Eligibility Test” will be conducted by NRA (National Recruitment Agency) for the recruitment of the non gazetted posts in SSC, IBPS, and RRB.
The Union Government on 9 Aug 2020 has already given its approval to the set up of a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) as a first stage screening for the recruitment to the non gazetted posts in SSC, IBPS, and RRB.

Step By Step Registration Process for NRA CET Exam 2021 –

Step 1. NRA CET 2021 Exam Registration Process
NRA will soon launch its official website, where NRA will update Notification, Exam Dates, Application of NRA CET Exam.
The application will only be in Online Mode through the official website.
There will be 3 different NRA CET Level Exams.
NRA CET Graduate level Exam
NRA CET 12th Level Exam
NRA CET 10th Level Exam
Choose the exam, which you want to apply for, from the above three different NRA CET Exams.
Register yourself by providing Name, email ID and Mobile number.
This will generate your Registration number and password which will be sent to you on your registered email id or mobile number you provided.
Step 2. NRA CET 2021 Exam: Fill the Application Form
After Competing your Registration Process, you can login to the application portal with your registration and password generated through the previous step.
Once you log in, you shall need to fill up the application form.
You will be required to fill and save your personal details like Your Name, Father’s Name, Category, Religion, Address for Communication, etc. to complete the application process.
Saving your details, you will be required to complete the rest of the steps in order to complete the application process.
Step 3. NRA CET 2021 Exam Documents Upload

What is NRA (National Recruitment Agency)?
NRA is a testing agency that would be responsible for conducting the preliminary ‘eligibility’ examination for non-gazetted posts. This includes the banking jobs in government sector banks, railway jobs (RRB) and SSC jobs. The agency, to be set up under the Societies Registration Act would have representatives of the Ministry of Railways, Department of Financial Services, the SSC, RRB, and IBPS.
What is CET?
CET stands for Common Eligibility Test. NRA would conduct an online CET which would serve as a screening or a preliminary examination for various non-gazetted government jobs including the RRBs, IBPS (banking jobs) and the SSC jobs (CGL, CHSL, etc.). It would only be the first level of examination which can be taken by the candidates.
How Many Levels CET would be conducted for?
Separate CET’s to be conducted for three levels of eligibility –
Higher secondary (12th)
Matriculate (10th pass)

In how many languages the NRA CET exam will be conducted?
The NRA CET will be conducted in multiple languages. According to Minister of DoPT Jitendra Singh, the exam will be conducted in 12 languages that are in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
Which All Exam NRA CET will cover?
Initially NRA CET would cover recruitment exams for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS Clerk/ PO) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC CHSL, CGL, Steno Group C, D, JHT, etc.). These would then be expanded to other non-gazetted posts.
Who will make the Final Selection List?
Based on the CET score, the final selection to be made through separate specialized Tier 2/ Tier 3 examinations conducted by the respective recruitment agency.
Do I have to appear for different CET’s for RRBs, IBPS, SSC Jobs?
No. Separate CETs would be not be conducted as per different agencies/departments like RRB, IBPS, SSC etc.
Separate CETs would only be conducted for jobs that require different education qualifications like – minimum high school certificate (Class 10), minimum higher secondary or Class 12 certificate and Graduation.
If the jobs applied for requiring the same level, the candidate need not appear for separate CETs.
Would I have to appear for other exams after clearing CET?
Yes. If you qualify the CET, then you would need to appear for the second and third rounds of the recruitment. The NRA would only screen for basic aptitude and the actual selection would be based on the recruitment criteria specified for the jobs by the respective recruitment agencies – RRB, SSC and IBPS.
What would be the validity of CET?
NRA CET score would be valid for three years. It means that once a candidate qualifies CET, he/she need not appear for the examination for three years and would be eligible to appear for the various recruitment examinations conducted in the three years – depending on the age limit set by the recruiting agency. Also, candidates can appear for another CET examination for score improvement.
What is the Syllabus for NRA CET?
The syllabus for NRA CET will be announced once the NRA becomes functional. It is expected syllabus would be in line with the current syllabus for the preliminary examinations for various levels of examinations.
What will be the frequency of exam conduction?
Initially, the exam would be conducted twice every year in online mode.
Will our CET Score will be shared with other companies?
CET scores will be shared with the central government, state government, UTs, PSUs, Private sector to facilitate more employment generation.
How many numbers of attempts are there for NRA CET?
No restriction on a number of attempts by the candidate, subject to the upper age limit prescribed.
Will CET conduct a screening test this year?
This process will come into force from next year(2021). The syllabus and sections(name of the subjects) are yet to be informed. Over 1000 centres will be set up to conduct the CET examination.
How many such screening exams will be conducted in a year?
Two exams will be conducted in a year and scores will be valid for three years. The best of the valid score shall be deemed to be the current valid score of the aspirants.
What is the process after CET result is declared?
After the declaration of the common eligibility test, the list of qualifying candidates under each category like SSC, Bank, and Railway will be forwarded to the respective agencies to conduct the next level of the examination.
