Directions : A word has been given in each question and has been used in the sentences given 
below. Identify the statements where the word has been used in a contextually and grammatically 
correct manner. If the word has been used correctly in all the statements, mark (e), “All of these”, 
as your answer.

Solution : C
Hostile means antagonistic, hateful unfriendly. Therefore, sentence (ii) and (iii) depict the correct usage of the given word. Sentence (i) is grammatically incorrect as 'hostile' is an adjective. 
Hence, option (c) is the most suitable  choice.

(i) The opposition party determined that the act  was too vague to be enforced.
(ii) The merger of these two companies would vague the India's  biggest accounting firm

Solution : 
Vague (adj)  means thinking or communicating in an unfocused or imprecise way. Sentence (ii) is wrong grammatically. Since ' vague' is an adjective,  it can't be used as a verbTherefore, only sentence (i) depicts the correct usage of the given word. Hence, option (a) is the most suitable answer choice.


Direction : In the following question, four sentences are given which may be grammatically 
and contextually incorrect. You need to find the one which has no error and mark that as your 
answer. If all the given sentences are incorrect then mark option (e) i.e. ‘all are incorrect’ as your 
answer.

Why (a) is wrong -  replace ‘among’ with ‘between’. Among is used for a greater number.
Why (b) is wrong - replace ‘case’ with ‘cases’.
Why (d) is wrong -  replace’ manufacture’ with ‘manufacturing’.

Direction: In the following  questions, one sentence is given, and four words have been given in bold denoted by (A), (B), (C) and (D).You have to decide which of the following is inappropriate in terms of either context or spelling. If all the words are appropriate in the context then mark ‘All are correct’ as your answer.
