Links of the passages 2, 3,4 are at the bottom of the page

Mr. Rohan had never thought much about the origin of wealth or inequalities in life. It was his firm belief that if this world was not good, the next would be good and this faith sustained him. He was not like some others whom he knew, who would sell their souls to the devil.

He always thought of God before doing anything. He lived the life of an honest man. He had not married, but did not desire another man's wife. He believed that women weakened men as was described in the stories of Samson and Delilah .

SOLUTION

1) c
Here one may be confused between the two options a and c but if we take a closer look we will realize that the question 'To sell one's sell to devil ' is an idiom which has some meaning which is exactly given in the option,so we will go with the exact meaning of the idiom. We don't need to modify the meaning and choose the option a.
'To sell one's sell to devil ' -  'to give up one' s honesty for monetary benefits.

2)d
It's clearly mentioned in the last sentence of passage.

3) d
Here one may be confused between the two options a and d but if we take a closer look we will realize that it is better to choose option d over option a as in the last sentence of the passage it is clearly written  that he believed that women "weakened" men. Mr. Rohan believed in  man's weakening because of women not  man's unhappiness because of women .

4)c
As Mr. Rohan believed that women weakened men, so did not marry and never desired for another man's wife.It shows that he is a man of principle,he sticks to what he believes.

5)b
Among the give options, b is the most suitable one. We can easily eliminate the rest three options.
