💠FREQUENTLY ASKED VOCABS IN BANK (IBPS, SBI, RBI) EXAMS PART 3
1)  Rebuff: reject  bluntly often disdainfully
Syn:  Snub, cold shoulder

Example- Kareena rebuffed Saif when he asked for a date for the first time. 

2) Reckless: careless of consequences/ irresponsible
Syn: foolhardy, heedless

Example-  Her reckless attitude brought her fame.

3) Reiterated: to say something again, once or several times
Syn: Repeat, restate

Example- She is in the habit of reiterating her statements. 


4) Rejuvenate: 
make younger or more vital
Syn:  Revive, revitalize

Example- The acupuncture treatment rejuvenated me,Urvashi Rautela.


5) Relinquish:  to give up; put aside or desist from
Syn: abdicate, forego

Example- Mr Rohit was forced to relinquish control of the project.

6) Reminiscent:  that tends to remind you of something
Syn:  Evocative, Suggestive

Example- The remake of the song is a reminiscent of 90s hit song.

7)  Remunerate:  to pay an equivalent to service, loss or expense
Syn: Reimburse, compensate

Example- The job offered me an excellent remuneration.

8) Repeal: cancel officially
Syn: abrogation, annulment

Example-  First amendment of Indian constitution added 9th schedule to our constitution. 
9) Revamp: to change or arrange something again, in order to improve it
Syn: Rehabilitate, repair


Example- KBC is planning to revamp the show before next season. 


10) Revert
: go back to a previous state
Syn: Retrogress

Example- The supreme court decided to revert the high court's verdict.

11) Rhetoric:  art of speaking or writing effectively
Syn: Grandiloquence, Fustian

Example-  The audience were impressed by the rhetoric Sadhguru aka Jaggi Vasudeva used in the debate .

12) Ridicule: to make fun of
Syn: derision, mockery

Example- Rakhi  Sawant constantly worked to ridicule Sunny leone .


13) Robust:
 sturdy and strong in form/ marked y richness and fullness of flavour/ rough and crude
Syn: Vigorous, Unrefined

Example- We need a robust mechanism to deal with this

14) Rumble: make a low continuous noise/ to be involved in a gang fight
Syn: Growl, lumber
Example- The rumble of the kids woke the lady up.

15) Sabotage: intentional destruction of something and hinder normal operation
Syn: Demolishment, vandalization

Example- Hrithik  is trying to sabotage case by creating confusion,Kangna Ranaut.


16) Sagging: hanging down (as from exhaustion , weakness or weight}
Syn: drooping, hang

Example- I somehow managed to revive my sagging spirit and restarted working on the project.


17)  Scarcely: only a very short time before, almost not
Syn: barely, hardly

Example- Seeing My favorite actor Sharukh,   I could scarcely control my joy 


 18) Scorn: open dislike and disrespect or mockery often mixed with disdain
Syn: Contempt, disdain

19) Scramble - 
to move hurriedly to a place, especially by using all limbs against a surface. 

Example- Both players scrambled to catch the ball. 


20) Scrutinise: to examine closely and minutely
Syn: Audit, Inspect

Example- The committee scrutinised the matter deeply.

21) Segregation: a state of being segregated, set apart, separated, or restricted to one group
Syn: Seclusion, separateness

Example- The movement fought against practices that segregated blacks and whites.

22) Sluggish: slow moving or inactive, not acting or working with full vigor
Syn:  Slow, lethargic

Example-  He is very sluggish. 


23) Slump:  sudden fall in price, amount and value/ to fall or sink suddenly
Syn: Depression, Recession
